Welcome to DownTownAngels.com
This space was born from two things close to my heart: my journey with Jesus Christ and a calling to create something that could inspire and uplift others.
First, I want to share my testimony of how God met me in a searching season and completely changed my life through His love and grace. Then, I’ll take you behind the scenes to see how this website came to be, a vision sparked by the Holy Spirit and built with a passion for reaching others like you.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me. My story encourages you and reminds you that God is always working, even when we don’t see it yet.
My Testimony
It was back in 2012, right on my local high street, when I first heard the gospel. I was not looking for anything special that day, but God had a plan. A simple message shared with boldness caught my attention and stirred something deep inside me. I was drawn to learn more, so I attended a local church.
Week by week, I listened to people share their stories, real stories of transformation, healing, and hope. Their faith lit a spark in me. I knew I wanted what they had: a relationship with Jesus, not just religion.
I approached the pastor a few weeks in and asked if I could be baptised. He smiled and said, “Let’s do it.” Within the hour, I stood in a large water tank, heart pounding, spirit open. As I was lowered beneath the water and brought back up, I felt something shift. I began to pray at that moment, asking the Lord to fill me with the Holy Spirit.
Then it happened. After a few hallelujahs, my words became something I could not explain. A new language, a heavenly one, began flowing from my mouth. I was filled with the Holy Spirit, overwhelmed, amazed, and forever changed.
That day was not just a turning point. It was the beginning of a new life.
From Vision to Reality: The Birth of Downtown Angels
In October 2024, I created a simple Facebook page for a church I was helping to grow. I had no idea what would come of it at the time; I just wanted to support the ministry and reach people. But within just a few days, something surprising happened: the page began to grow. And in just a few short weeks, it had reached over 1,000 followers.
That growth stirred something in me. I started asking myself, “What can I post that will help people? What can I share that points others to Jesus?” That’s when my blogging journey truly began.
It had been over 12 years since I was first filled with the Holy Spirit, and I realised I had a story to tell, not just about one moment, but a journey. So I began sharing my walk with Christ: the struggles, the breakthroughs, the lessons, and the joys. I wrote about faith, everyday life, and the power of God’s love. Slowly but surely, people connected with it. The community kept growing.
I had never done anything like this before. I had to learn marketing, content creation, and Photoshop from scratch. The page changed names over time, from Neil McBride’s Blog to The Kingdom Fellowship, each chapter marking a deeper step into my calling.
Then, in April 2025, something special happened. I sat in a quiet, dark room with a notepad and a heart full of vision. I began writing down potential names for a new project, something bigger. I needed a name that was creative, meaningful, and spiritually inspired. As I sat there, “Uptown Girl” by Billy Joel played in my head, and I happened to be looking at pictures of angels. That’s when it hit me: Downtown Angels.
The name made me pause; it felt right. It had edge, purpose, and a spark of heaven. I researched and found the domain was available, and the brand was born from there. It was more than just a name; it was a calling, a creative outlet for my faith, and a new way to reach people right where they are.
I love being part of this project. It reflects who I am and what God is doing in my life. My hope is that DownTownAngels.com will one day become my full-time focus so I can serve my church, share the gospel, and help people all over the world encounter the love of Jesus, just like I did.
